As the holidays approach, you or someone you know may be needing emotional support following the loss of a loved one. This 1 hour "Grief and Loss in the Holidays" presentation is free and open to the public. It is presented by Kim Smith, Bereavement Coordinator and Chaplain with Heart of Hospice. Plan to attend and please invite others who would benefit from this presentation. Even if you haven't experienced a recent loss, the information shared in his workshop is helpful in supporting those who are grieving.

A Holiday Griever's Bill of Rights
Grief and Loss in the Holidays - "A Griever's Bill of Rights", is a free, 1 hour workshop taking place on Saturday, November 1st at 10am at 2525 Apollo Ave., Harvey, LA (inside Faith Presbyterian Church). Have you experienced loss, whether it be the death of a loved one, a pet, a job, a health issue, a change in your sense of identity (change in roles as caregiver, empty nest, etc) or other loss? We all experience losses in life and grieve them in various ways. The holidays can be a time when feelings of grief and loss are felt most profoundly. "A Holiday Griever's Bill of Rights" offers you permission to feel, heal, and set boundaries that honor your journey. It explores your rights to navigate the holidays with compassion and self-care. The presenter is Kim Smith, Bereavement Coordinator and Spiritual Caregiver for Heart of Hospice. Everyone is invited.
